Henry Saavedra, CPA, MBA

Henry Saavedra was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. He is a graduate of Florida State University, with a B.S. in accounting, and received his M.B.A. from the University of Tampa.

Henry has been a Florida licensed CPA for over 30 years. He has worked for the State Auditor General's Office, owned a private CPA practice, and was the Director of Finance for the Tampa Sports Authority. Henry worked for the Tampa Sports Authority for 24 years. The Authority owns and manages Raymond James Stadium, and manages three municipal golf courses for the City of Tampa. Initially Henry served as its Director of Finance and Administration. For the last 12 years he has been the Executive Director for the Tampa Sports Authority.

During his term as Executive Director, Henry led the Authority through the construction of Raymond James Stadium, while concurrently operating Tampa Stadium. Construction was completed on time and on budget. Under his supervision, major golf course renovations were made to the City of Tampa's Rogers Park and Babe Zaharias Golf Courses. Henry was a founding member and Treasurer for the Outback Bowl. Additionally, Tampa has been the site for Super Bowls XXXV and XLIII, where Henry and his staff coordinated the activities at Raymond James Stadium. He also served as Treasurer and Executive Committee member for the Tampa Bay Super Bowl Host Committees for both of these highly acclaimed premier events. Henry retired from the Tampa Sports Authority on March 31, 2009.

Henry currently owns a CPA practice offering tax planning and preparation for individuals and small businesses.
